During my Peabody Conservatory years in the early 1970’s, I was lucky enough to enroll in a series of courses referred to as “The Care & Feeding of the Grand Piano,” taught by resident technician Ernie Weisenbourn. Thus began my study, interest and love of the piano.
After graduating from Peabody Conservatory and moving home to New York City I apprenticed with Toni Van Loan of the Victorian Piano, one of the most amazing and resourceful technicians I have ever met. (For the most part if Toni can’t repair it, or figure another who can, it can’t be done.)
In 1994, I moved lock stock and barrel to Pittsburgh. I have been tuning, repairing and rebuilding and appraising pianos for well over 35 years. I offer fair prices, honest appraisals and good advice.
